Neglected small bench area. . .

Someone was thoughtful enough to put this bench at a bus stop where there was only a sign but how sad that they didn't think to put a trash receptacle next to it. Sadder yet that the general public who use that stop have to litter with their cigarette butts. The bench is kinda rustic looking and would look so cute set upon a bed of grass there.

Memorial bench . . .

The little plaque on this bench says it was given in memory of a loved one who died. It was at one of the entrances at a church where I went to a memorial for friend who died recently. Just big enough to sit and think of the friendship that person brought to all.

Lovely place to sit, read, or just think

Old Apple Tree Park Bench

This simple bench is in the Old Apple Tree Park. You can sit on it to view the apple tree (the oldest in the northwest), watch your kids playing in the park or or take a breather before or after you walk the Confluence Bridge which begins there and goes across Hiway 14 to the Fort.

Two benches at Fort Vancouver Reserve

Near the east entrance to the Reserve stand these two comfortable benches to rest your tired feet, especially if you have walked over the Confluence bridge and explored the Fort. The two cannons are replicas made by a high school class and donated to the city.

Bench "to go" . . .

This double bench was in front of a retail store. I can imagine people hauling out their patio furniture in the sprign and placing this bench near the flower beds.

Fishing pier bench

This bench is on the fishing pier on the Columbia River right next to the I-5 bridge. It's a great place to sit and fish or just watch the river action.

Little hard bench

This bench looks very uncomfortable to me because of the little bumps in the style of it on the seat but it would feel fine if I were tired and needed to sit. If you click on it and enlarge, you will see the "bumps" on the bench and even in its shadow.

Little park bench with arms

I saw this cute bench today when I got off the bus to run an errand. It was in a small park . The arms are different than most benches around here in parks. It looked just big enough for two.
